Munglinup Beach

After leaving Esperance we've now hit the really exciting part of WA, with amazing secluded campsites on remote beaches. Or first stop at these was a place called Munglinup, which was about an hour west of Esperance. Basic facilities - a drop toilet and cold salty shower - but beautiful campsites in amongst the trees only a stone's throw from the water.
We met a really nice group of people here, and were particularly pleased to be camping next to a family with a girl Tilly's age (her name is Lili, and they also look quite similar). We spent several days enjoying the beach and the river, and doing plenty of fishing. We caught herring off the beach, but the action really started when we were given a tip about a "secret" lake full of large bream. After some serious bush bashing in Justin's car (it will never be the same again), the lake lived up to all expectations. In just an hour of fishing, three of us had caught our quota and had enough fish to feed three families for several meals. Magnificent.
The girls spent their days swimming and doing lots of craft with their new friends, and were very reluctant to leave.

Photos below are: the girls enjoying themselves amongst the trees with their new friend Lili and her mum (Rachael), the "haul" of the fattest bream you'll ever find, Justin showing off, cleaning the fish, and the secret lake.
